Information and communication technologies for justice systems PDF Print

Technologies and in particular ICT have been  the main instruments of change for the judicial authorities. Information systems have been introduced into working practices. promising greater operational efficiency, increased transparency, and facilitating the exchange of electronic data and documents among various  offices and parties in the proceedings. This has  led to the launch of numerous projects which very often did not achieve the desired effects. This is another example of where the comparative analysis of experiences in different countries has allowed us  to identify both successful approaches and traps into which some  policy makers have fallen. Understanding the innovation processes and their peculiarities in such highly formalized systems as courts is therefore a necessary step to support and guide their introduction.
